I moved to Steamboat Springs in 2004 after following my dream of living in the mountains.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Elementary Guidance Counseling from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

I decided to change careers, but continue my passion for helping people, and become a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, receiving an Associate’s degree from Arapahoe Community College of Littleton, CO in 2010.  In addition to being a PTA, I am trained in Mat and Comprehensive Rehab Pilates through Polestar Pilates and I am a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher.  By combining my knowledge of the body and the rehabilitation principles of Pilates, I strive to provide the most efficient and quality care for my patients.

AlissA HILL

Movement is medicine, her motto really since she began teaching full apparatus in 2000. Alissa Hill found pilates through the Physical Therapy side, she was hit by a car in the late 90's and chose, as her rehabilitation at The Pilates Center in Boulder. She later became mat certified here. This has led her down many wonderful pathways.

After traveling for a year in Up with People and learning to love dance and performing arts more than she has as a child. Alissa longed to know and learn more about Pilates. She studied with Julian Littleford in Del Mar,CA, she taught at his studio for 3 years and traveled with him for workshops. This is an experience she does not take for granted.

In 2004 or so she moved to Ashland, Oregon where she had a studio for 13 years. During that time she studied and became certified in the Franklin Method, somatics, creative dance, some yoga, meditation, trauma awareness and breath work. The nervous system is one that she finds extremely fascinating.

Alissa Loves to learn new things. She likes to blend these modalities together in ways that remind one of their own bodies' brilliance and ability to heal themselves. Her style has a playful tone.  Alissa and her husband have two kids. She loves being outside, writing, painting and sleeping in. Her favorite exercise on the reformer is short spine roll.
